Making Tandoori Roti with garlic without a tandoor is easy. We will use a cooker to make our special tandoori roti with Garlic.

Another tandoori roti from my special tandoori cooker This one is stuffed with garlic and spices to add a new flavor to your plate.

You would have tried garlic naan in a restaurant and this is something similar to it. I am actually using wheat flour instead of refined wheat flour (maida) to keep it healthy.

Ingredients:

  1. Sufficient for making 1 chapati – Wheat Flour Dough
  2. 1/2 Tsp Finely Chopped Garlic
  3. 1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
  4. 3 Pinch Salt
  5. 3 Pinch Chat Masala

Method:

Mix Salt, Chat Masala, Red Chili Powder and Chopped Garlic in a bowl. We will call it ‘Garlic mixture’ now. Mix Salt, Chaat Masala, Red Chili Powder, Chopped Garlic in a bowl
Roll the wheat flour dough into a flat-bread with the help of a rolling pin. Roll the Chapati into a flatbread with the help of a rolling pin.
Sprinkle the ‘Garlic mixture’ on chapati. Use as much as you like. The quantity that we have used is good enough for 1 tandoori roti. Sprinkle the Garlic mixture on chapati.
Close the Chapati from all the corners properly. Make sure that Garlic mixture does not have any open space to spill out of chapati. Close the Chapati from all the corners properly
Dip a small portion of this packet in oil just to grease it. Dip a small portion of this packet in oil just to grease it.
Now use rolling pin to roll it again into a flat-bread with soft hands (less pressure). We are now ready to cook this flat-bread into a tandoori roti. Now use rolling pin to roll it again into a flatbread with soft hands
If you have a Tandoor, you can very well use it. If not, make use of your beloved cooker.
Heat Cooker on high flame. Keep this in mind that cooker has to be really hot before you paste the chapati on it. It would take approximately 2-3 minutes on high flame to get to that hotness level.

Spread few drops (5-6) of water with the help of your fingers on rolled chapati’s any one side only. This side needs to stick to cooker’s wall and water will do the trick.
Once cooker is hot, paste the chapati on its wall (as shown). Keep the stove on high flame.

Once you see that the chapati is slightly cooked from its bottom (the side with water and face towards its wall), turn cooker upside down. Once you see that the chapati is slightly cooked from its bottom (the side with water and face towards its wall), turn cooker upside down.
Turn cooker upside down to cook the other side too. This is to accumulate heat inside the cooker and cook exposed portion of chapati. Turn cooker upside down to cook the other side too
