In simple language, Potato Croquettes is a name for fried cutlets made with breadcrumbs. They are primarily served as an appetizer during evening snacks.
Wrap them in a Paratha or stuff inside a sandwich to make it a meal. They can be made within 20 minutes to serve your hungry guests.
Here is the tried and tested recipe with all step by step pictures.
- 3/2 Cup Boiled Potato
- 1/2 Tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tsp Black pepper powder
- 5 Tbsp Cornflour
- 1/2 Cup Water
- 1/2 Cup Bread Crumbs
- 2 Cup Oil ( for deep frying)
- 1 Number Green Chili (Chopped)
- You can enjoy the Potato Croquettes with Green Coriander Chutney, Amchoor chutney or Tomato Sauce.
- Some people like to stuff them inside sandwich or burgers to make it a meal.
- For best taste, deep fry them only when you have to serve immediately. They can be refrigerated but re-heating would make them dull and non-crisp. You can off-course re-heat using a Microwave. Re-frying is not recommended.
- If you want to prepare in advance for your guests, you can complete the dough making process. Refrigerate the Croquette pieces and then fry as and when you want to serve.
