Masala Bhindi Recipe – No Onion No Garlic – Video
Masala bhindi with no onion no garlic is an absolute delight. Make it easily at home to eat with Paratha or Naan.
- 500 Gms Okra (Bhindi (Lady Finger))
- 2 Tbsp Coriander Leaves (Finely Chopped (For Garnishing))
- 1/2 Tsp Salt (or to taste)
- 2 Number Green Chili (Finely Chopped (Optional))
- 1/4 Tsp Red Chili Powder
- 2 Tbsp Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Mango Powder (Amchoor)
- 1 Tsp Coriander Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Garam Masala
- 1/4 Tsp Asafoetida (Hing)
- 1/4 Tsp Turmeric Powder (Haldi)
- 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds (Jeera)
- The whole process is pretty simple and can be summarized as roasting the Masala and softening the Bhindi. Here are the elaborate steps for you.
- Chop Bhindi into pieces. You can chop in any shape you like. The common options are simple round cylindrical or sliced into 2 long pieces. We have chosen the cyndrical one.
- Let us start with adding Oil in a pan. Heat it on high flame for 30 seconds.
- Once done, add Cumin seeds and Asafoetida. Let it cook for another 30 seconds on high flame.
- Now add chopped Bhindi and Green chilies optional. Mix well.
- Cook it on high flame for 2 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- After 2 minutes, turn the stove to medium flame. Add Salt, Turmeric Powder, Mango Powder, Coriander Powder and Red Chili Powder. Mix well.
- Cover the pan with a lid and let it cook for 10 minutes on medium flame.
- After 10 minutes, turn off the stove.
- Sprinkle Garam Masala and chopped Coriander Leaves. Mix well.
- Masala Bhindi is ready to serve hot. Enjoy!!!
- You can refrigerate the masala Bhindi for up-to 2 days. Re-heat using a microwave or a stove before serving.
- Bhindi tastes great with Lachha Paratha.
