Veg Chow Mein Recipe – India Style – Video
Veg Chow mein India style are tawa or wok fried noodles with vegetables. Stir fry veggies, add soya sauce to make hakka noddles at home with tested recipe.
- 750 Gms Noodles
- 1 Small bunch Cabbage
- 2 Number Green Bell Pepper (Capsicum )
- 2 Number Onion
- 1/4 Tsp Ajinomotto (Optional – also called MSG. Avoid it, if you can.)
- 3 Tsp Soya Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Green Chili Sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1/2 Tsp Salt (To taste)
- Start the process by chopping the Cabbage and Onion. Do keep in mind that we need to finely chop them as finely as possible.
- Finely chop Capsicum after removing its white portion which is present inside. Chop Green Chili.
- Now start with boiling the noodles. Take a pan and fill it with 75% water.
- Add noodles and let it cook on medium flame until they turn soft.
- You can check the softness by your hand. Make sure they are not too soft otherwise noodles will not taste good.
- Switch off the gas and rinse its water. Run through the noodles in running water to cool them off. This will help them not to stick to each other.
- Keep it aside for drying and start with cooking vegetables.
- Take a big pan, add oil and heat on high flame.
- Add Onions and fry them for 1 minute. Do NOT need to wait until onion is golden brown.
- Add Capsicum, Cabbage and Green chili and cook until the cabbage turns light golden in color.
- Add Ajinomotto and salt. Mix well.
- Add dried noodles and mix well in such a way that the noodle threads do not break.
- If you are ready to eat the noodles just after cooking then and Soya Sauce, Vinegar and Green Chili Sauce as well. Mix well.
- Vegetable Chow mein is ready to serve.
