Strawberry Bread Cake Recipe – Sweet Treat For Kids [pics]

Strawberry bread is a flavored bread and has the capability to be one of the favorite food for your kid. We add Walnuts for crunchy-ness and Strawberry for flavor.

Even though we call it a bread, it can easily be termed as a strawberry walnut cake. We decided to name it as bread simply because of its shape (a loaf) and the brick shaped slices that we sliced it into.

It is sweet as a dry cake and can be served with morning or evening snacks.

All my son’s friends who visited our place were treated with this experiment from our kitchen and if you believe my words, it was a hit.

  • 15 Number Strawberry (Fresh)
  • 1/2 Cup Oil
  • 2 Cup All Purpose Flour (Maida)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 3 Number Eggs (Large (2 Inch in Height))
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Cup Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Vanilla Essence
  • 1/3 Cup Walnuts

Making the bread batter

  1. Chop the strawberries in small pieces. The chopped pieces should each be about 1/2 inch size. Keep them aside for later use.
  2. Take a big bowl, and add All-Purpose-Flour Maida, Baking Powder, Salt and Cinnamon Powder. Keep it aside for later use. Mix them well. We will call this bowl 1.
  3. Break-open the eggs in a separate bowl. Call it bowl 2.
  4. Now add Sugar, Vanilla Essence and Oil in bowl 2.
  5. Beat or blend the bowl 2 contents for 1 minute.
  6. Now, mix the bowl 1 contents in bowl 2.
  7. Add crushed Walnuts and chopped Strawberries to bowl 2 now.
  8. Blend again for about 1 minute.
  9. The bread batter is now ready. Lets move on to preparing baking pan.

Preparing baking pan

  1. Since, it is a sweet bread, we are using a loaf shaped pan. You can pretty much use any pan and probably give it any shape that you want.
  2. Grease the loaf pan internally with 1 Tbsp of Oil. This helps in creating a non-sticky layer between pan and bread.
  3. Pour the prepared batter now in bowl 2 in this greased pan.

Pre-heat and Baking

  1. Pre-heat the Oven on 350 F 180 C for 2 minutes. You can also use Microwave Oven Microwave with convection mode with same levels of heat.
  2. After 2 minutes, keep the pan inside the Oven carefully. Do not forget to wear the Oven safe gloves. It would be pretty hot at this time.
  3. Bake it on 350 F 180 C for 60 minute.

Bread bake toothpick test

  1. In normal circumstances and a standard Oven, the bread should bake nice and fluffy in 60 minutes. But, given the age and heating capacity of individual Oven and Microwave Ovens, it is possible that your Oven might bake it 5 minute earlier or later. To determine the bread’s bake readiness, we use a toothpick test.
  2. Take a toothpick preferably the wood based, insert it at the center and take out. If the tooth pick comes out clean non sticky and no raw bread batter on it, you can safely assume that break has baked well.If you see the raw batter on toothpick, you may need to bake again for about 5 minutes.
  3. Our bread has baked well. Take it out from the Oven.

Slicing Baked Bread

  1. Keep the strawberry bread aside for 10 minutes to cool down to room temperature. You can smell the strawberry now.
  2. After 10 Minutes, use a non-sharp knife to scrap out the corners and take out the bread loaf from the pan.
  3. Slice the bread into marble shaped pieces and it is now ready to serve. Enjoy.
  1. Bread can be refrigerated. The bread pan should be covered with either a lid or an Aluminium foil to contain moisture.
  2. The bread should be consumed within 5-6 days for best taste.
