Papad Ki Subzi Recipe – Video

Papad as you know is an add on element to any meal. But today, we are making it as main course dish and bringing it to the limelight.

  • 2 Tsp Green Chili (Chopped )
  • 3 Tsp Coriander Leaves (Chopped )
  • 2 Tsp Ginger (Grated)
  • 2 Tsp Garlic (Grated)
  • 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 3/2 Tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Oil (For making Tadka and Enough Oil for frying the Papad)
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 3/4 Cup Curd (Unsweetened )
  • 1 Cup Water
  1. Before frying the Papad, we need to cut them in 4 pieces.
  2. Simply fold the papad in half and make 2 pieces and then again fold it to make two more small pieces.
  3. Add enough Oil in a pan to fry Papad. Heat Oil on high flame.
  4. Add papad and fry them. Flip them in between so that they achieve same color all over.
  5. The same way you can fry rest of the Papads.
  6. To make Tadka: Heat Oil in a pan on high flame.
  7. Add cumin in hot Oil. Let it fry until it turns golden brown in color.
  8. Once done, add grated Ginger & Garlic, mix well. Cook on low flame for about 1 min.
  9. Once they become slightly golden brown, add Red Chili Powder, Turmeric Powder & Coriander Powder. Mix well and cook on low flame for a min.
  10. Add Green chili & Curd. Mix well and cook for 2 min. on low flame.
  11. After 2 min., add Water and mix well. Cook for 5min. on low flame.
  12. After 5 min., add fried Papad.
  13. Use soft hands to mix gravy with Papad and make sure that you don’t break the Papad.
  14. Add Salt & Coriander Leaves. Mix well.
  15. Switch off the stove. Papad Subzi is ready.
  16. Note: Papad already contains Salt. So, keep it in mind while adding salt to your taste in this subzi.
  17. It is ready to enjoy with Poori,Naan, Parantha or Chapati.
