Besan Burfi Recipe – Sweet Dessert From India

Besan Burfi is an north Indian dessert for Shri Hanuman prasad. Besan can be roasted on stove or in Microwave. You can substitute sugar with condensed milk.

  • 2 Cup Gram Flour (Besan)
  • 3/2 Cup Powder Sugar (or Powder Sugar, If you like to eat less Sugar, use 1 cup only)
  • 1/4 Cup Semolina (Sooji)
  • 1/4 Cup Almonds (Sliced , You can add any dry fruit of your choice like Pistachio/Cashew)
  • 1/4 Tsp Green Cardamom Powder (Green)
  • 3/4 Cup Desi Ghee (Pure Ghee. You can use Unsalted Butter instead of Desi Ghee)
  1. Besan Burfi can be refrigerated for up-to 10-12 days for best taste.
  2. Burfi loses its softness if you refrigerate. Hence you might want to keep it out of refrigerator at normal room temperature.There is no harm in keeping it out too. You can enjoy the softness way for about 7 days.
  3. You can also prepare Besan Ladoos with the same mixture by giving them round ball shape.
