Spiral Methi Mathri is a special evening snack. It is special not only because of its unique shape but for its taste. Methi as an ingredient gives it a different taste than a normal maida mathri.

Spiral Methi Mathri Recipe In Words

Ingredients:

  1. 2 CupAll Purpose Flour (Maida)
  2. 1/2 CupSemolina
  3. 1/4 tspCarom Seeds (Ajwain)
  4. 1/2 TbspMethi leaves
  5. 1/2 tspSalt
  6. 1 TbspOil
  7. For making DoughWater

Method

  1. Take a container and add All Purpose Flour and Semolina. Mix well. Semolina helps in adding crispness to Mathri.
  2. Add Ajwain and Salt. Mix well.
  3. Add Oil and mix well. Rub the mixture with hands to let the Oil gel with the mixture well.
  4. Add Methi. Mix well again. Add small amounts of water as required to make a tight dough.
  5. Once dough is ready, cover it and keep aside for 10 min. This helps in making crisp mathri.
  6. Lets start rolling the Mathris in Spiral shape.
  7. Take a small portion from dough and roll it using rolling pin into a flat round shape.
  8. The thickness of rolled piece should be very fine as shown.
  9. To give it a spiral shape, roll the small layers as shown on each other.
  10. Press slightly with finger to make all layers stick with each other.
  11. Now apply a layer of water on one end of layer and roll it in round shape as shown.
  12. Water will help the two ends stick with each other.
  13. We have prepared all other mathris the same way as shown.
  14. Take a frying pan. Add oil and heat it up.
  15. Once hot, add mathris in pan for frying on low (SIM) flame. Fry them until they turn golden brown.
  16. When they turned golden brown, take them out.
  17. Enjoy Spiral Methi Mathris with tea.
