Sesame Seeds (White Til) is an important ingredient in most north Indian winter recipes. If you have eaten the gajak, you would know what i am talking about.

Til’s intrinsic abilities make it hot and hence is good for your body in winter season. It helps keeps your body warm.
We are also trying to use it in our Pan Cake recipe here along with Capsicum. You can virtually add any vegetable of your choice as a topping.

Til Pancakes Recipe In Words

Yield: Til Pancakes – For 4 people

Ingredients:

  1. 1 Cup (Our 1 Cup = 240 ML) Non-sweet Curd
  2. 1 cup Semolina
  3. 1-1/2 tsp Sesame Seeds (White Til)
  4. 1 tsp Salt
  5. 2 pinch Baking powder
  6. 1 Capsicum (Finely chopped into thin small pieces)
  7. 2 tsp chopped Coriander Leaves
  8. For cooking Oil
  9. 2 inch finely chopped Ginger
  10. 1 chopped Green Chili

Method

  1. Take a bowl, add Semolina, curd, Salt and Baking Powder. Mix well and make a smooth paste.
  2. In another bowl, add finely chopped Capsicum & Coriander Leaves, Ginger & Green chilies. Mix well.
  3. Heat non stick pan on high flame. Your pancake mixture should have dropping consistency.
  4. Spread 1 Tsp of Oil on the pan and heat it. Once it is hot, spread the 1 Tsp of semolina batter.
  5. Try to give it a round shape. Now sprinkle the Capsicum mixture on top of it as a pudding.
  6. Sprinkle Sesame seeds (White Til) all over it and cook/roast on medium flame.
  7. Sprinkle few drops of Oil around the Pancake and press lightly the pancake with spatula. Wait until it gets golden brown from the bottom.
  8. Once it is golden brown from the bottom, sprinkle 1/2 tsp of Oil all over it (on upper side) and flip it.
  9. Again wait until its gets light golden brown in color on medium flame.
  10. Once done, take it out in a plate and serve along with Sauce of your choice.
