Crisp Soya Tikki Recipe – Protein Rich Snack – Video

Crisp Soya tikki is a real surprise for snackers who are always searching for something new. It is healthy and full of protein. Enjoy it in tea time snack.

  • 3/4 Cup Soya Chunks
  • 3/2 Cup Boiled Potato (Grated)
  • 1/4 Cup Onion (Chopped)
  • 1/2 Tsp garlic (Finely chopped)
  • 5/2 Tsp Mint leaves (Dry)
  • 1 Tsp Ginger (Finely chopped)
  • 1 Tsp Green Chili (Chopped)
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Garam Masala
  • 2 Cup Oil (Or enough for Frying)
  1. Soak Soya Chunks in Hot water for 10 minute. They will puff up after soaking.
  2. Drain out Water and squeeze out rest of the Water from Soya chunks(as shown in the video).
  3. Squeeze out all the Water from them. Once done, keep them aside in a sieve to dry. After 10 min., grind them into a paste.
  4. Now add boiled Potatoes, Ginger, Green Chili, Onion, Garlic & Mint leaves in soya paste.
  5. Add Salt, Red Chili Powder & Garam Masala. Mix well. Once mixing is done, we will start making the Tikkis.
  6. Take small amount of mixture in your hand and try to give a round shape.
  7. Once you achieve a round shape, press it a bit from the center with the help of your palm.
  8. You can make more tikkis from the rest of the mixture in similar fashion.
  9. Take a frying pan with flat base, add enough Oil so that your at-least half of the tikki’s height is submerged in oil for shallow frying. Heat it on high flame.
  10. Oil will take about 3-4 min. to get hot. Now turn the stove on medium flame and add Tikkis carefully.
  11. Fry on Medium flame Only. Once you see the bottom turning golden brown, flip it to fry from other side too.
  12. All Tikkis have achieved the golden color, now take them out of the Oil.
  13. Soya Tikkis are ready to enjoy with any Sauce of your choice like, Amchoor/Tamarind Sauce, Coriander/Mint Sauce or Tomato Sauce.
  14. You can also try with bread or Chhole.
  15. If you sandwich the Tikki in Bread, you will get Tikki Toast. Or if you sandwich it in the burger then you will get Burger.
  1. Soya tikki is high in dense calories and should be eaten in low proportion, if you are on dieting.
  2. It should be served fresh as and when it is fried. If you try to refrigerate, it will lose its crispness later.
