Aam Panna as we call it in Hindi is a cold drink made with raw mangoes (Kachi ambi). It is a healthy beverage to fight against the intense Indian summer heat.

This drink is mainly consumed in the Northern part of the India and is considered beneficial in the treatment of acidity. Aam panna is also a good source of vitamin B1 and B2. Since it is prepared from raw mangoes, it is an excellent source of vitamin C also.

Ingredients: To make Mango syrup for Aam Panna

Ingredients for Aam Panna Mango Summer Delight

  1. 500 gms Peeled and Chopped Raw Mangoes
  2. 1-1/2 Cup (Our 1 Cup = 240 ML) Sugar – as per your sweet eating appetite
  3. 1 Cup (Our 1 Cup = 240 ML) Water

Ingredients: To make 1 serving of Aam Panna

  • 1/4 Cup (Our 1 Cup = 240 ML) Aam Panna
  • 3/4 cup Cold Water
  • To Taste – Ice Cubes
  • 1/4 Tsp Roasted Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 Tsp Black Salt

Method: To make Aam Panna syrup

Add peeled & chopped raw mango pieces, sugar and water We have already peeled and chopped raw Mango into small pieces as shown in ingredients image. If you have not done so, please do it now.Then, add peeled & chopped raw mango pieces, Sugar and water in a pressure cooker.
Cover the lid of the pressure cooker We now need to boil these raw mangoes. Cover the lid of the pressure cooker. Bring it a boil (1 whistle) on high flame and then switch off the stove. Do not open the lid of the pressure cooker till it has steam/pressure in it.
Open the cooker Once the steam of Cooker has vanished on its own (Just raise the whistle blower and if it does not blow or steam does not come out, then steam is Off), open the cooker and keep it aside to cool down at room temperature.It will take about 7-10 minutes to cool down.
Add it to the grinder jar Once boiled Mango has cooled down, add it to the grinder jar and grind it to a smooth paste/syrup.
We will wil get a smooth fine looking syrup As you can see, we will get a smooth fine looking syrup with raw Mango’s sweet and sour flavor. I can’t resist my taste buds looking at it

Your Aam Panna syrup/Squash is ready. You can store it in a glass jar and use it in about 1 month.

Method – Aam Panna – How to make a serving glass

How to make 1 serving of Aam Panna Take a serving glass, add 1/4 cup of Aam Panna syrup, Black Salt and Roasted Cumin Powder.The quantity of Black Salt and Cumin powder should be as defined in the above ingredient list for 1 glass.
Fill up your cup with the cold water Add cold water and mix well.Your Aam Panna is ready to give you a big shot of tangy, sweet & sour Mangoes.
Fill the cup with the Ice Cubes You can add Ice Cubes as per your taste. Chilled Aam Panna in the hot sunny day will simply give your body a boost and stomach a digestive relief! Drink it sip by sip to enjoy the Aam Panna’s real flavor.
