The simplest definition of what your metabolism is, is every function of your body requires energy, this energy consumption is your metabolism. So the more your body has to do to survive in its current state, the higher the metabolism.

Whenever you talk to some Gym instructor or your diet doctor, they will tell you that your "Your metabolism is slow, that is why you can’t lose weight fast!”

And they’re probably right! But it is something you have more control over than you think. The common myth is that genetics plays a large role in your metabolic rate. While genetics does impact your metabolism, it really only accounts for about 5% of your overall metabolic rate.

Other things that impact your metabolism more are:
I recently discovered a fact which is not commonly known to us is that if you make your body work harder to maintain its current state, your body will burn more fat continuously throughout the day even when you are not moving!

Sounds really cool..right?

And yet it is the secret utilized and optimised by every successful fat loss clinic in the world.

By simply increasing the density and percentage of your lean mass(muscle) in your body, your body has to work considerably harder to maintain it. The increases in size are quite small, you don’t need to have a physique that scares, just modest increases in muscle tone can produce substantial increase in metabolsim rate and hence fat loss.

Girls there...dont worry...by lifting small amount of weights, you are not going to build the physique like males, but it will certianly help you in lossing weight faster. You might have seen the movie actors and actresses lifting some weights as part of their exercise schedules. They are doing it because their health instructor already knows this fact.

As a matter of fact, Every 500 grams of muscle on your body burns between 30 and 50 calories a day even when you’re watching TV or sleeping. Women often blame excess body fat on a sluggish metabolism when what’s really to blame is dwindling muscle mass. This loss of muscle is so slow and happens over such a long period of time that it goes unnoticed. This reduces the metabolic rate which allows sneaky body fat to start to accumulate.

So, getting in the gym and lifting some weights is going to make your body achieve this secret state.
