Thermic Effect Of Food
The theory is like this, the more often you eat, the more fat you’ll burn. And yes, you read it right!!
Simply by increasing the number of meals you have, spaced at regular intervals throughout the day will increase you metabolism and help you burn more fat.
Movie stars will eat every 2 hours of their waking day, no matter what. They never skip breakfast, or miss a snack or any other meal. They do this to take advantage of the “thermic effect of food“. This is the heating the body goes through to chew, digest, utlise and eliminate the food you eat.
Your body is constantly looking for fuel, if it does not see food coming in your body will fight back by storing more fat!
The study I hinted at earlier goes something like this:
In a study of boxers, comparing a group eating 6 meals a day compared to a group eating just 2 meals a day with the same overall caloric intake. Those eating 6 meals a day lost more bodyu fat, despite eating EXACTLY the same quantity of food.
In real terms this means you must NEVER miss a meal! That especially includes breakfast (and I’m sorry a coffee and a piece of toast does not qualify as breakfast!)
Hence, the crux of the theory is that you should keep eating your regular meals but do keep a check on what you eat. Eating 6 times a day does not mean that you can take the liberty of dancing with your hot chocolate fudge!! If you do so, nobody int his world can make you loose weight :).
