You have always got your best ideas after exercising or aerobics or playing tennis and you thought it is just a coincidence or have never given a thought to it? then you might be surprised to know that as per the research study published by
Newsweek, in their overview of current research on creativity, even half hour of exercise promotes up to 2 hours of creativity.

"Almost every dimension of cognition improves from 30 minutes of aerobic exercise, and creativity is no exception. The type of exercise doesn't matter, and the boost lasts for at least two hours afterward. However, there's a catch: this is the case only for the physically fit. For those who rarely exercise, the fatigue from aerobic activity counteracts the short-term benefits." |
To be very frank, it had happened with me in past and now after knowing the result of the above research, I am able to relate it. The instance is like this:
I was waiting for my turn to appear for a job interview and was feeling quite nervous. Nervous to the point that my heart beat was running at about 150 beats per minute and my face was sweating like it was 50 C temperature!!
I still had some 15 minutes for my interview to start and decided to move out of the building lobby. I closed my eyes and started taking deep breaths as I had seen my mom doing this in one of the yoga postures. To my surprise, all of the anxiety and nervousness went off like it was never there!! I appeared for my interview and gave all answers confidently.
Today, when i read the above study by Newsweek, I could relate it to the yoga which i performed just before my interview and performed well.
