  27. Jul 2010 by anil

The data collated by GE based on a random sample of 6 Million patient records from it's proprietary database, shows some of the health trends of Americans. The numbers and percentages aren't statistically significant; they're meant to represent general trends.

Looking at the data in new ways like this can help us understand health and gain new insights about how to take better care of ourselves and the healthcare system.

You can yourself compare various health condition on this interactive Health Visualizer provided by GE here.
The Health Visualizer focuses on the major health issues facing Americans today, by allowing users to compare demographics (i.e. gender, age), risk factors (i.e. body mass index, smoking), diseases and conditions (i.e. diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, stroke).

This clearly shows that we should take more care of our body as it passes the 35 year mark. It is Okay to enjoy junk food and smoking in your teen but do not take any chances in your late 30s as it will fast deplete your age.

As a thumb rule, you can think that 1 cigarette subtracts 1 minute of your beautiful life!!
